Quota Pampanga to launch project for children with disabilities

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Quota International of Pampanga will launch its “Barya Mo, Tulong Sa Kinabukasan Project” at SM City Pampanga this week in a bid to change the lives of every speech- and hearing-impaired child in the province.

President Myra Manabat told Sun.Star Pampanga that the project aims to collect monetary donations for the literacy program of the organization for children with speech and hearing disabilities.

The program will be launched in partnership with SM City Pampanga and features donation cans that are placed near counters of business establishments. Quota International of Pampanga is urging business establishments here to become partners of the organization by putting donation cans in their offices and cashier areas.

The group has been continuously supporting the needs of the speech and hearing impaired under the Special Education (Sped) class of Pampanga High School. The group’s advocacy program includes providing books, materials and even the training of teachers for children with speech and hearing disabilities.

Quota International of Pampanga was able to construct one school building for the Sped class through their fund donation drive. The group is optimistic that they can achieve a zero illiteracy rate among the speech- and hearing-impaired children of the province.
