Candaba folks welcome ‘working students’

CANDABA — Locals here welcomed the presence of “working students”, following the instruction of Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda for a census of unemployed skilled workers and tuberculosis patients.
These students were employed by the Provincial Government for summer jobs under the Special Program for Employment of Students (Spes).
Felipe Dela Cruz III, a welder and resident of Barangay Lanang, said they are happy to note that despite her busy schedule, Governor Pineda is still concerned about the employment and welfare of residents here.
He expressed hope that with the help of the Provincial Government, a lot of unemployed skilled workers all throughout the province will be given opportunities to secure jobs in the future.
“Maraming skilled workers ang kasalukuyang nasa bahay lang kasi nagsawa na sila sa kakalakad para maghanap ng trabaho. Pero sa tulong ng Kapitolyo posiblwng mabigyan kami ng pagkakataon,” Dela Cruz added.
Meanwhile, the residents also lauded Governor Pineda for her deep concern on the health needs of the Kapampangans.
“Pineda is far from other traditional politicians who go ‘missing’ after getting elected into office. She makes it a point that basic social and health services are delivered even to the far-flung places in the province,” another resident here said.
“Ngayon lang kami nakakita ng gobernador na talagang may puso sa kaniyang nasasakupan. Di tulad ng ibang pulitiko na pagkatapos manalo ay wala na pero si Madam Pineda siya pa mismo ang naghahanap sa mga tulad naming may karamdaman,” Angie Pangilinan, a resident from Barangay Pasig this town stated.
