Quarry revenue continues to rise with rains

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources Officer Art Punsalan allayed on Friday fears that quarry revenues will be affected by the advent of the rainy season.
“As we have noted since the start of the (Governor Lilia) Pineda administration, we are taking seasonality out of the question which has been a reason of the past administration on the decline of quarry revenues then. We have gone past through that and we have proven that even during the rainy season, quarry revenues would level off at least on an average of P25 million per month,” Punsalan stressed.
He told Sun.Star Pampanga that collections in the month of May 2012 alone peaked to P28,962,500, the highest so far since January.
“As an indication that rains won’t affect our quarry operations, our collection last month was close to P29 million. It is the highest so far this year, surpassing our March revenues of P28.4 million. The other months also showed a positive upward trend even as we are on a sure level of P25 million a month,” Punsalan said.
He said that at the moment, 2012 collections for the past five months stand at P130,440,000 with the grand total from July 1, 2010 to May 31 this year at P488,205,000.
“But we are not resting on our laurels; we continue to work hard on collections and monitor and enhance our quarry operations,” Punsalan said.
